?Project Runway All Stars? Set to Tape Sans Klum

?Project Runway All Stars? Set to Tape Sans Klum

Project Runway fans, we know you're busy watching Season 9. But even as that airs, 13 former contestants from previous seasons are frantically stitching (and bitching) their way through the filming of a spin-off series, Project Runway All Stars.

This could be a very entertaining series for long-time fans of the show. You may find yourself switching allegiances away from favorite designers, now that so many of the stand-outs will be going head to head.

Just don't expect to see host Heidi Klum, mentor Tim Gunn or any of the usual judging team calling the shots when the series airs later this year. Lifetime has installed a new crop of fashion mavens as the show's taste-making framework. Model Angela Lindvall will fill Klum's hosting heels; Marie Claire editor-in-chief Joanna Coles will guide the competitors; and designers Isaac Mizrahi and Georgina Chapman will serve as judges.

Why not Klum and company? She and Gunn are the faces of the show, after all. In Klum's case, it might have been a salary issue. It's been reported that she and the network "couldn't agree on the financial terms for the new series."

But the network has done its best to ensure plenty of drama by bringing back some of the more volatile contestants, and the most talented ones. Plus, they've considerably upped the ante, prize-wise. Get a load of the lucky winner's spoils:

"Prizes include an exclusive designer’s boutique in select Neiman Marcus stores and on NeimanMarcus.com; $100,000 dollars in technology and office space to help grow their business from HP and Intel; $100,000 from L’Oreal Paris; a feature spread in Marie Claire, for which he or she will serve as a guest editor for one year; and a sewing and embroidery studio provided by Brother International."

So which designers got a second stab at fashion-world fortune? Here's the list.

Austin Scarlett (New York): Season 1, Fourth Place

Kara Janx (New York): Season 2, Fourth Place

Elisa Jimenez (New York): Season 4, Tenth Place
