Emilio Estevez: Charlie Sheen Is a Changed Man

Emilio Estevez: Charlie Sheen Is a Changed Man

While Charlie Sheen was noisily burning bridges earlier this year, the rest of his famous family stayed pretty quiet. In fact, we'd almost forgotten about Sheen's older brother Emilio Estevez -- who's now back in the spotlight, saying that Charlie is a changed man.

"He's a completely different guy," Estevez, 49, tells Access Hollywood of his bro. "He's got his voice back. And I think he's got his focus. He's on a new show and he's gonna be roasted by Comedy Central -- which I think is going to be hysterical... I think that he's really got it together."

In recent months, "together" is one of the last words that anyone would have picked to describe Sheen, 45. But the former Two and a Half Men actor does seem to be a little more even-keeled now that he's gone back to work: prepping for his Comedy Central roast, and putting together his new sitcom (an adaptation of the film Anger Management). With the porn star "goddesses" gone, he's even reportedly playing nice with ex-wife Brooke Mueller, who's mom to the couple's 2-year-old twins Bob and Max.

"Kids are great, Brooke's doing great," Sheen recently told Entertainment Tonight. "Everything these days -- starting with health, family, parenting -- is under this overall heading of harmony."

To Estevez, though, Sheen will always be the little brother he could beat in a wrestling match. "But I studied martial arts and I was into boxing and stuff," he's quick to add. "I was a tougher kid."

At the moment, Estevez is on the road with father Martin Sheen, promoting their upcoming film The Way (Emilio wrote, directed and produced it, while Martin is the star). He says that his family remains very tight -- which may account for the rumor that their mother Janet has moved in with Charlie.

"She's back and forth," Estevez admits. "We’re a very close family and we're a very real family, and I think every real family has real problems. And (Charlie's) gone through it, and he's come out the other side, and I think we're all really excited to see what the next chapter of his life is going to be like."
