From Bieber to Britney, celebrity fragrances are just part of the fame game, and Taylor Swift wants in. The country/pop star, who is set to make Billboard history with first-week sales of Speak Now, is ready to fill a spot on department store shelves with her debut fragrance. It was announced Monday (November 1) that the 20-year-old has inked a deal with Elizabeth Arden to develop her own line of products.

According to a press release, Swift's first fragrance will debut in fall 2011 and be available at North American retailers. It also says the songstress will be involved in various stages of the scent's creation, including product development, packaging and advertising.

Never afraid to incorporate her personal experiences and memories into her songs, the singer reveals she loves how a particular aroma can spark immediate nostalgia.

"I have always loved how fragrance can shape a memory, the way certain scents remind you of events and people that are imprinted in your thoughts," Swift says in the release. "Lately I've been having fun experimenting with combining some of my favorite scents, so I'm really excited about working with Elizabeth Arden to develop my own unique fragrance."

Ronald Rolleston, executive vice president of Elizabeth Arden, says the company's enthusiasm toward its partnership with Swift is credited not only to the singer's critical acclaims, but also to her status as a role model.

"Her rise to superstardom has been meteoric, and her multiple awards and incredible record sales are a testament to her extraordinary talent," he explains. "Equally important to us is what Taylor represents as an artist: a role model who inspires her global fan base every day. We look forward to launching a new fragrance brand that reflects every facet of this extremely talented young artist."

Elizabeth Arden also has developed fragrances with Britney Spears and Mariah Carey.
