Singer Lily Allen has suffered a miscarriage, six months into her pregnancy. Allen, 25, was expecting her first child, a boy, with boyfriend Sam Cooper, 32, this January.
The British pop star's rep confirmed the sad news to People in a statement: "It is with great sadness that we have to confirm that Lily Allen and Sam Cooper have lost their baby. The couple ask that their privacy be respected and that they be left alone at this deeply distressing time. No further comment will be made."
Unfortunately, this is not the first time Allen has had to endure such a tragedy. In 2008, the Grammy nominee suffered a miscarriage when she was with musician Ed Simons. Just a few weeks ago, Allen told The Sunday Times that her previous trauma, as well as early complications with this pregnancy, had her "living in fear."
Allen and Cooper made the announcement in August that they that were expecting. During an interview with a British radio show in May, the "Smile" singer said that having a family, "is ultimately my main goal in life and more of a priority than flying around the world jumping up and down on stage singing songs."
