Leonardo DiCaprio found himself in the middle of some real-life drama Sunday, when the plane he was traveling on encountered engine trouble and was forced to make an emergency landing.
DiCaprio was amongst the passengers on the flight to Russia, which had to reroute and land at New York's John F. Kennedy airport after one of its engines shut down.
"En route to attend the Tiger Summit in St. Petersburg, Leonardo DiCaprio was one of the passengers aboard Delta Flight 30," a spokesman for the 36-year-old said. "He wishes to commend the actions of the pilot and flight crew in bringing the plane to a safe landing."
Sources say that, once the plane was safely on the ground, the actor took the time to sign autographs for the crew and his fellow fliers.
