Ke$ha Enlists James Van Der Beek For 'Blow' Video

Ke$ha's new music video for her song "Blow" opens with this disclaimer: "No mythological creatures were harmed in the making of this video."

Ke$ha isn't referring to "Dawson's Creek" star James Van Der Beek, who makes a cameo in the video, which was directed by Chris Marrs Piliero. She's referring to the champagne-swilling, hard-partying unicorns that also make an appearance in the video, which takes place at a society party.

Looking glossy and glam in her one-shoulder dress, she tells two unicorns, "I grabbed the bear by the throat, looked him right in the eyes and said, 'Bear you have until the count of zero to put some pants on and apologize to the president. And that's the story of how I was elected to the parliament of Uzbekistan."

She then giggles as she looks into the camera, telling viewers to "dance." Soon, she locks eyes with Van Der Beek. Ke$ha and Van Der Beek exchange glances as they make their way through the party. Scenes of their longing (and unicorns dancing with one another) are edited with scenes of Ke$ha, in a bodysuit, mugging for the camera, singing the song and kissing more unicorns.

Van Der Beek begins stripping off his suit jacket and dances his way towards the singer, who then pulls off her bra from under her gown. He follows suit, leaving viewers laughing and Ke$ha understandably perplexed about why he wears a bra under his dress shirt.

"Well, well, well ... if it isn't James Van Der Douche," she says.

"I don't appreciate you slander-beeking my name," Van Der Beek replies.

After snipping at one another and trading barbs, they begin shooting lasers at one another in a battle sequence, knocking down and killing rainbow-shooting unicorns in the process. In the end, it's revealed that Ke$ha has killed the actor and mounted his head on her wall, laughing off the encounter. The plaque in which his head is displayed reads "James Van Der Dead."

'Dancing with the Stars' Season 12 Cast Announced

'Dancing with the Stars' Season 12 Cast Announced

Last night during The Bachelor, Dancing With the Stars revealed its latest jumble of vastly different celebrities to compete toe-to-toe for the coveted Mirror Ball trophy. Here's who got the golden ticket for Season 12, which premieres March 21 on ABC.

Kirstie Alley, 60, actress and weight loss spokesperson; Ralph Macchio, 49, who played the original Karate Kid; Sugar Ray Leonard, 54, boxing champion (and later commentator); Romeo Miller, 21, best known as rapper Lil' Romeo and son of former DWTS competitor, Master P; Chelsea Kane, 22, a Disney Channel actress; Petra Nemcova, 31, a Czech supermodel; Wendy Williams, 46, the syndicated talk-show host; Chris Jericho, 40, WWE star and TV personality; Kendra Wilkinson, 25, star of E!'s Kendra; Mike Catherwood, 31, cohost of the radio show Loveline; and Hines Ward, 34, wide receiver for the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Alley stands out as the group's biggest star and tabloid target, which is always high on the DWTS wish list. Whether or not she can dance, she is always amusing (not to mention a little nutty). She's a great pick, especially since her well-chronicled weight loss battles fit right into this show. Kelly Osbourne has already proven that you can lose weight here. No doubt Alley will fight her dance partner every step of the way, but that also will be fun to watch!

Williams is a great addition, too. Not only is she a no-holds-barred talk-show host, but she's a towering 5'11", with a massive chest. How will her dance partner handle her? It will also be interesting to watch Williams, a longtime fan of DWTS, because she's been so outspoken about the show and its contestants in past seasons.

Playboy model and reality star Wilkinson seems to be the Pamela Anderson of this season, which could work -- if she can dance as well as Anderson. Too bad, though, that her husband, NFL star Hank Baskett, won't be competing (as some early rumors suggested). It would have been fun to see them compete against each other.

So far, DWTS has been a publicity-hogging ratings bonanza that's given scores of fading celebrities the chance to dance their way back into the public consciousness... and let's be honest: "Fading celebrity" describes the majority of this Season 12 cast (Ralph Macchio, anyone?). Which one of these people will benefit the most from this spotlight? Only time will tell.

Chris Medina Explains Why He Told Fiancee's Story On 'American Idol'

'I'm glad I did it, because the day after it aired, wonderful things started happening,' he tells MTV News.

Last week, when Chris Medina was sent packing on "American Idol," it was a shock to pretty much everyone — except, oddly enough, Medina himself.

"I gave it my all, but, I mean, I'm in a room with 40 phenomenal singers. They all have earned their right to be there. And though I had faith in my talents, just being in that situation, you gotta have consistent, solid performances all the time, and the people there did that," he told MTV News on Monday. "I think I had a really good first audition, a good audition in Vegas and a good audition in my last one — I sang for my life — but there were times in the middle where I was just pretty OK. And I'm not one of those people who's delusional. I left it all on the line. ... Some people had seven solid performances; I had three or four."

If that reaction seems a little strange coming from a former "Idol" contender, well, it's probably because Medina is far from your average pop-star wannabe. Even in the face of overwhelming success, he's remained grounded, thanks in no small part to his fiancée, Juliana, who, as viewers of the show know, suffered a traumatic brain injury and has been cared for by Medina ever since.

"If there's anything I learned from my situation with my fiancée," he said, "it's don't expect that things are going to happen. Just enjoy what is happening, and always do your best. And I did that on 'Idol,' so I'm OK with it."

So no, Medina has no regrets about missing the "Idol" top 24 or really anything he did during his run on the show — and that includes allowing producers to film his and Juliana's story for the show. Though some might have called the move exploitative, Medina, not surprisingly, sees things a little differently.

"I just know that there's people out there who kind of naturally see the bad in every situation, and, to be completely honest, I think at one point in my life, I might have been one of those people," he explained. "But I felt like in this specific situation, when they asked, 'Can we do a story on you and your situation?' The first thing I did was, 'I don't think I want to do that. I'm a little nervous about it. I'm afraid there's going to be people who are going to be saying bad things.'

"But then Juliana's mother and my mother, my family, all kind of got together and [asked], 'What's something that you want to come out of it? Why are you even entertaining the idea?' " he continued. "And I said, 'If I can get her story out there, maybe there's someone that can help out. Maybe there's somebody whose brother went through the same thing that can offer us some kind of advice or a doctor that could be like, "I want to help her, I can help her." ' And, I'm glad I did it, because the day after it aired, wonderful things started happening, for both me and my family."

Like he said, no regrets about his "Idol" past, or his future with his fiancée, for that matter.

"Brain injuries just scoop the life out of you ... but that doesn't necessarily mean you just give up all hope," Medina said. "She's my best friend, and I'm always going to be here for her."

Don't miss "Idol Party Live" at 10 p.m. Thursday on MTV.com following the "American Idol" results show for analysis, celebrity guests and even some karaoke. In the meantime, get your "Idol" fix on MTV News' "American Idol" page, where you'll find all the latest news, interviews and opinions.

Britney Spears Added Her 'Flavor' To 'Hold It Against Me' Fight Scene

Martial-arts expert Steven Ho talks to MTV News about working on the new video.

Last week, fans were treated to the premiere of Britney Spears' "Hold It Against Me" video. The sleek, dark look at celebrity life was a new aesthetic for the star, who hooked up with Jonas Åkerlund on the clip.

While her dance scenes were choreographed by Brian Friedman, it was noted Hollywood martial-arts expert Steven Ho who helped Britney work out the moves to battle herself in the video.

"I've been very fortunate to have worked on a wide range of high-profile projects, and the video's producer, Hagai Shaham, thought my style would be a good fit with Jonas and Britney. I was brought in to train Britney, choreograph the fight and set up wires for the levitation shots," he told MTV News about joining the project.

"I've always wanted to work with Jonas," he continued. "I knew that a stylized fight would translate well with his trademark visuals, so I was thrilled about doing this project. Jonas wanted a superhuman fight with elements of brutality — that's right up my alley of how I approach an action scene, so we were definitely all on the same page throughout the process."

Not only were Åkerlund and Ho onboard for some mortal combat, but the star herself warmed up to the idea of battling a clone. "Britney was really excited throughout the whole process. It was a grueling shoot of dance and stunts, but her passion for the video and professionalism never wavered," he explained. "There were some pretty tough insert shots where we needed Britney to actually get hit in the face by 'herself.' We did several consecutive takes of this, and she had a lot of fun with it and was a great sport.

"Britney was very enthusiastic about learning how to fight; she's an athlete," he added. "I got that Jonas' concept was partially about the duality of self — we all deal with that, so who wouldn't have fun fighting their alter egos?"

The key, it seems, was making Ho's fight moves work with Friedman's dance routine. "It was really great working with Brian; he's an absolute professional. He was diligent about our fight style being cohesive with the dancing, and that's why it worked so well," Ho recalled. "Our rehearsals were on the same stage, so it was very helpful to have Brian's feedback from a dancer's point of view."

It seems that one of the most memorable moves in the fight, Spears' quickstep during the smack-down, was all her own.

"Britney was fantastic about incorporating what we had practiced in rehearsal, and as a consummate performer, she was able to take ownership by adding her own flavor to the fight. There's a quick cut in the video that features Britney taking a series of small shuffle steps in her heels. This is something she came up with herself that I thought added a nice break of 'cuteness' in the fight," he said. "Jonas drowned out the music here to highlight the tapping sounds, and it's really one of my favorite beats of the video."

Aside from the two Britneys, the other main characters in the fight were her sky-high heels and flowing gowns. "The wardrobe was one of the stars of the fight," he explained. "At first I was concerned about how to approach the long trains. There were discussions with Jonas and [stylist] B. [Åkerlund] and [fashion assistant Renelou Padora] about possibly shortening the train for safety issues. After I showed my wife [designer Nina Petronzio] the pictures of the dresses, she literally said, 'I will kill you if you cut those trains down.' We ended up incorporating the trains as 'weapons.' We treated them as if they were sharp blades, giving Britney reason to jump and evade around them."

Lindsay Lohan Jokes About Stealing in 'Jimmy Kimmel' "Humpilates" Video

Lindsay Lohan Jokes About Stealing in 'Jimmy Kimmel' "Humpilates" Video

For a girl facing possible jail time for allegedly stealing a $2500 necklace, Lindsay Lohan still has a sense of humor. On Jimmy Kimmel's annual post-Oscar edition of Jimmy Kimmel Live!, the troubled starlet, along with some of Hollywood’s hottest female actresses, "exercised" quite suggestively in a spoof of a new fitness craze called "Humpilates."

Called "Jimmy K's Hottie Body Hump Club," the fitness regime "combines the flexibility of pilates with the sexability of humping." A-list actress Scarlett Johansson was in on the sketch, along with Jessica Biel, Jessica Alba, Kelly Ripa, Eva Longoria, Minka Kelly, Sofia Vergara and Emily Blunt. The ladies good-naturedly humped their hearts out, thrusting against exercise balls and walls, all while ogling the late-show host (apparently he's sexy?).

Lohan shows up toward the end of the sketch to explain the presence of a CGI lion and why it's in such great shape. "Well, lions spend their days hunting and their nights humping," the tired-looking starlet deadpans. "Lions hump upwards of 40 times a night. I've spent thousands of hours watching them, so I know."

Some more tomfoolery and comical humping ensue, and finally Kimmel wraps up up his faux-infomercial by saying, "The Jimmy K program is so affordable, it’s practically a steal."

Lohan steps back into the frame again, glares at Kimmel, crosses her arms and huffs, "Allegedly!" Watch for yourself below!

We weren't really laughing too hard at this star-filled sketch (it was a tad drawn out), but we were even lessed amused by Lohan mocking her theft allegations. We have a feeling the judge won't find it too funny either.
